How to get saved and have a relationship with Jesus Christ…

We are all sinners.
  • Without God, man follows his own rules and plans. Isaiah 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him (Christ) the iniquity of us all."
  • No one is perfect. Everyone has at least made one mistake. Jesus said, “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: but I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart,” (Matthew 5:27-28). God knows our thought life completely.
  • No one is good enough. A person might have done numerous good works but even that could not earn salvation. Isaiah 64:6 says, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” “For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast,” Ephesians 2:8-9.
  • We all have failed at least once if not many times to “Love God with all our hearts, mind, and strength” and “Love others as we love ourselves”.
  • “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
The penalty of sin…
  • “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord,” (Romans 6:23).
  • Romans 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."
  • Revelation 20:15 , "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
Jesus paid the price of sin, a debt we can never pay, by his blood
  • John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
  • Whether you think of yourself as too good or extremely bad or anything in between to receive forgiveness…come to Jesus.
  • Jesus said: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28 ).
  • "But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
How to call upon the name of the Lord for salvation
  • Believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross and rose again from the dead to pay the penalty of all your sins past, present, and future.
  • Romans 10:13, “For whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
  • When you call upon God to save you from your sins it’s just appropriate to say a prayer that speaks what is in your heart by faith in Christ. Your prayer may be like the example below but whatever you want to say to God as you call to Him to save you through Jesus is alright. God looks into your heart.
  • “Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Romans 10:9).
  • Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your Son Jesus Christ that he died for all my sins at the cross and his resurrection. Please forgive me for all my ways that put you out of the picture. Forgive me that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated You from me. From now on I am letting the Lord Jesus to become my Lord and Savior. Please help me live the way you want me to live and help me do your will for the rest of my life here on earth. Thank you Lord for loving me while I was still living my life my own way. And thank you Lord God for the life eternal I’m now receiving through Jesus. In His name, I pray, Amen.
After receiving the Lord Jesus…
  • Read the Bible regularly
  • Pray/Talk to God everyday
  • Pray that God will lead you to a Bible believing local church, one that exalts Christ.

If you have received Christ as your Lord and Saviour welcome to God’s family.
